Healthcare is a multifaceted field dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness, and the promotion of overall well-being. At the heart of advancing healthcare practices lies Clinical Research, a critical process that translates scientific discoveries into tangible improvements in patient care. Clinical Research involves studies conducted on human participants to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new medical interventions, such as drugs, devices, and therapies. These studies, often referred to as clinical trials, are essential for developing evidence-based practices that enhance the quality of healthcare delivery.

To gain a deeper understanding of Clinical Research, here are some helpful resources:

  • ClinicalTrials.gov: This is a database of privately and publicly funded clinical studies conducted around the world. It provides information about a wide range of clinical trials, their purposes, and eligibility criteria. clinicaltrials.gov

  • Mayo Clinic - About Clinical Studies: This resource provides a general overview of the clinical studies, and the different types of clinical research. mayo.edu
